Harry comes to his friend Jake's club one evening. He is coming to terms with the fact that something is missing out of his life. He isn't looking to be tied down. When he hears that beautiful french voice he is captured. He knows he wants to hear more from and get to know her.Pascale is on the run from her past. Determined to make a fresh start she uses her voice as a way of expressing her feelings. Once Harry worms his way into her heart they become inseparable. Harry starts coping with the id [...]

I usually dislike stories revolving around two couples at the same novel because they feel like two major plots crammed into the same space. It rarely gives the characters space to breathe and develop. However, Rachel De Vine did a fine job of combining four people's points of views as well as their stories and experience in Songbird. She also avoided the usual cliches that appear in spanking stories involving rich men and beautiful damsels in distress. There is a depth to the relationships and t [...]

In classic film noir, the gritty opening scenes find colour when the screen is graced by the femme fatale, a striking, flawed woman who psychologically challenges the status quo represented by a dominant, usually charismatic male. This movie trope was borrowed from pulp fiction writers – Dashiell Hammett, Elmore Leonard, Raymond Chandler, and has been taken back by writers in various forms such as Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club, where young professionals are seen as empty drones finding meanin [...]

LOVE HAD TRIUMPHED OVER EVILThis story kept me captivated and on the edge of my seat as the life of Pascale unfolds. A beautiful young woman with a sexy voice that sounds like it belongs to someone much older. Harry is put together, a dominate, business owner and living comfortably, but enjoying his single lifestyle. Hearing Pascale and seeing her, he realizes she is someone very special, but haunted by demons. The story is steady and keeps the pages turning as Pascale's life, which has been ful [...]

A Sweet and Sexy Love Story - Pascale is the type of woman who drives men wild with her beauty and sensual singing voice, but she is running from an abusive past. Harry is a handsome and successful businessman, but he is reluctant to commit to one woman until he meets Pascale, to whom he is instantly attracted. And then the sparks REALLY FLY. Harry's friend, Jake, is trapped in a an unhappy marriage and is having a fling with a young woman who works at his club. All four of the main characters a [...]

This was my first time reading a book by Miss De Vine. I loved the emotional way she wove the words into different stories for each character. While I didn't care for the secondary characters' story line quite as much ( Rosie and Jake were well written, but their story was not quite my cup of tea), I LOVED Pascale and Harry.Pascale was so vibrant and emotive, vulnerable, beautiful in so many ways. Raw, injured real.I loved her so much. And I really enjoyed Harry and the way he turned things aroun [...]

This is the second book I’ve read where the characters are written by chapters. I didn’t like the first book, I’m still struggling to finish it, but this book was so interesting and well-written and the subject matter so emotional, I was captivated by the story and was able to finish it in one sitting. There were other characters in the story, but they all paled when I began to read Pascale’s story. I love her relationship with Harry. It had just enough play to keep the story steady and m [...]

I thoroughly enjoyed this! Harry and Pascale were the main characters but Jake and Rosie had their own storyline also filled with angst. Pascale had a harsh abusive life during her teenage years and was understandably fearful and timid when she met Harry but quickly learned to trust him and love followed swiftly. Jake had a dysfunctional marriage and Rosie was has outlet. As things got progressively worse he becomes closer to Rosie and fell in love. Following explosive situations, both couples h [...]

While this story is maily about Pascle and Harry we also get to interact with Rosie and Jake as well. Harry is drawn to Pascale in ways he has never been drawn to another woman before. Pascle is a wonderful mix of strength and vulnerability with is a perfect match for Harry's dominance and protectiveness. And while there is a lot of drama involving Pascale's past that must be dealt with it is never allowed to take over the story and overshadow the relationship that is forming. It was also fun to [...]

Very good book!I enjoyed this book! The story is written in first person and switches between characters but it's done well. Pascale has not had an easy life but she is very lucky to meet Harry and luckier still that they have an undeniable chemistry. There are some things from her past that they must overcome and the journey is not smooth but it is a journey worth taking. Great read.

This was a wonderful love story that delved deeply into the characters feelings and emotions. I liked the way each character had their own chapter with their point of view. Pascale, the songbird was closed and fearfull but with love and support became stronger and more self confident. The secondary characters had their own story. This touching story was drew me in and didn't let go until the conclusion.

Songbird is an exceptional read. Sexy, sensual, and fun, I enjoyed it very much. I received this book during a promotion by the author. Harry wants to get to know the sexy French singer, Pascale. I'm not one to give out spoilers so will just say if you like descriptive, spicy erotic thrillers you can't pass this up! I give author Rachel de Vine 5 stars!

5 starsWhat a nice read. It had action. It had a plot. It was a story of Pascale, a French singerwho ran away from an abusive situation. It did have some graphical sexual scenes as well asmild BDSM, but it was sweet and an easy read.
