This book was disappointing. The author didn't actually seem to know what she was talking about. She included Chick lit and Erotica as sub-genre's of romance. If she was really a romance author she would know that while there is sometimes some crossover these are individual genres of fiction in their own right. For goodness sake erotica is about someone's sexual journey not their romantic one (ok it can sometimes be both). Also the author was unable to explain the difference between a romance and [...]

Great story for beginners and experienced authorsI'm a romance author & I picked up this book hoping to find great tips and new pieces of advice. I got exactly what I was looking for here. There are great strategies and ideas as well as tools for organization and better writing. After writing a couple of books, it felt good to refresh on some of the basics and learn new ways I could get my writing to appeal to my audience. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in starting to writ [...]

The book contains mostly tips on writing but not specific about romance writing. Also there are some huge errors in the book. For example: it states that chick lit books almost never have a happy ending. Ive never reas a chick lit with a bad ending The book also doesnt include 100 strategies, although it says so on the cover. Dont waste your money buying this book. If you want to learn how to write a romance, then there are better books out there to help you.

Great Advice This was extremely helpful advice on everything from outlines, developing characters, to dialogue. Buying paperback so I can highlight and make notations. Great as a reference guide.

From the very beginning, this was full of flat out incorrect statements. For example, identified Romeo and Juliet as a romance. It's a love story, but it is NOT a romance. Did not finish but rating to keep others from wasting time/money.
